After graduating as a veterinarian from the University Complutense of Madrid, Dr Juan Turrero worked for several years at one of the best racetrack practices in the world: the Randwick Equine Center in Sydney, Australia where he gained enormous experience.
Juan returned to Madrid where he initially worked as a racehorse veterinarian and soon built an impressive international career as a top sport veterinarian specialized in high level jumping horses.
Juan has participated as a veterinarian in no less than 7 World Championships (Rome 1998, Jerez 2002, Aachen 2006, Lexington 2010, Caen 2014, Tryon 2018 and Herning 2022) and 2 Olympic Games. Juan has also been team veterinarian of countries such as Mexico, Spain, Egypt and Argentina. He is the official treating veterinarian in Madrid for the Spanish Royal Palace, H W World Cup and the La Corona World Cup.
Juan was also a former lecturer at the Amsterdam Sports Medicine Congress and the MHW Equine Practice Congress. He also has many international top riders as regular clients and on top of that he is also the director of the Sunshine Tour Veterinary Clinic since 2018.
