Wendy Wambacq European Specialist in Animal Nutrition.
In 2011, Wendy graduated as a veterinarian at the University of Ghent. Afterwards, she performs 2 years of practice.
In 2013, she starts a residency at the Laboratory of Animal Nutrition of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Ghent University.
In 2016 she obtained the title of European Specialist in Veterinary and Comparative Animal Nutrition (Dipl. ECVCN).
In 2018 she is recognized as an ICREO certified osteopath for animals (International College for Research on Equine Osteopathy)
In 2021 she finalized her doctoral research (PhD) on the influence of nutrition on the immune status of dogs and horses, which also resulted in an international patent application. After her PhD, she works as an R&D employee at Versele-Laga, focusing on horse nutrition a.o.
In 2022, Wendy joined the Equine Care Group as a senior expert in nutrition and osteopathy where she shares professional advice within the clinics but also in the outpatient setting. Wendy is also an academic consultant and co-supervisor of the ECVCN residency program at Ghent University. She is a member of the Education and Residency Committee of the European College for Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition, and was recently elected to the Board of the European Society for Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition as Treasurer.
