Led by Dr. Wim Vandermaesen, ECG Expertise responds to a growing international need for highly qualified, objective and scientifically grounded veterinary expertise in cases such as:

- Medico-legal evaluations
- Taxations and damage assessments in the context of insurance and liability claims

Dr. Wim Vandermaesen, judicial veterinary expert
Dr. Wim Vandermaesen (°1979, Gent) is a veterinarian and certified judicial expert with more than fifteen years of experience in both clinical veterinary practice and forensic expertise.
After graduating from Ghent University in 2005, he began his career in the United Kingdom, where he further specialized in first-line veterinary medicine and surgery. Since 2007, Wim has been active as a practicing veterinarian through his practice V-VET.
Over the past decade, he has focused primarily on veterinary expert reports and independent consultancy, working closely with major Belgian insurance companies and courts.
He is registered in the National Register of Judicial Experts, and a member of the Chamber of Judicial Experts (KGSO).
Combining hands-on veterinary experience, scientific knowledge, and a solid legal background — including his postgraduate training Introduction to Law for Judicial Experts (Ghent University, 2014) — Dr. Vandermaesen brings a unique and valuable perspective to our group.
